The Snow Globe Effect
A downloadable game for Windows
Christmas morning. The phone rings – an urgent call to work. You wonder what could have possibly happened. You certainly didn’t expect THIS. After all, working at a company designing snow globes seemed like such a peaceful job…
The Snow Globe Effect is a VR game blending festive holiday themes with elements of horror. It was created during a December VR Game Jam by a two-person team of aspiring game developers. (This was our first game jam, so please be kind to us ♥).
With this project, we aimed to improve our skills, unleash our creativity, and have fun making our very first VR game.
We plan to continue developing The Snow Globe Effect and are open to all kinds of feedback. Merry Christmas!

Controls:
Right Controller:
- Use the thumbstick to teleport
- Use the trigger to interact
Left Controller:
- Use the thumbstick to rotate

For whatever reason, my VR setup was quite unhappy with this entry. Super low res and laggy (even though it was 90fps). Interesting though!
Thank you for your comment and for testing our game! Could you let us know which VR setup you used? We didn’t have the chance to test many headsets, but we’d like to make our game compatible with as many setups as possible.
Perhaps the look was intended, if quite hard to read. Ive tested on Q3 via vr desktop and Steam Link. But the more annoying part was how laggy the head movement was. I think this is Unreal game? Iirc I had similar issue when Ive used Steam VR plugin
